If you were, for example, based near the popular harbour village of Baltimore, itself blessed with many fine restaurants and traditional pubs, you could learn to sail on some of the most highly regarded waters of Southern Ireland or play Golf on a top quality 18 hole course. Take a ferry to either Sherkin Island with its magnificent sandy beaches or the Irish speaking Cape Clear. Try clear water wreck diving off the coast or even night kayaking in one of the most ecologically sensitive nature reserves in the world - the beautiful Loch Hyne. As for walking, where does one start...or finish? What ever takes your fancy, West Cork is sure to satisfy.
